Jean Tilden (BS, RN), President, is a
pediatric nurse with 29 years of experience taking care of medically
fragile children. She is a volunteer at homeless shelters on the
South Shore of Massachusetts and a passionate advocate for the
specific population of pregnant women and their children. She is
also a coordinator for Birthday Wishes, an organization providing
birthday parties for children living in homeless shelters. Jean has
been involved with several other community service projects
including Relay for Life cancer fundraiser and project LUCK, an
international student exchange program.
Nancie Knox, Clerk, has 28 years experience
as a medical office manager. She is a long-time volunteer at
homeless shelters on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Nancie rides
a Harley and challenges other biker Grandmothers to support these
homeless mothers and newborns
Shirley Richardson (Ed.D.), Treasurer, has
worked in higher education for 24 years. Her background in sociology
and education has given her an appreciation for the tremendous
burden placed on homeless mothers who are often victims or domestic
abuse or teens abandoned by their family due to their pregnancy.
Shirley believes that every baby deserves the unconditional love of
grandmother energy.
Elaine Bean has worked in early childhood
education since 1984. She is office of Childcare Services certified
in the commonwealth of Massachusetts and has worked in both public
and private settings. Elaine has numerous early childhood education
courses at Wheelock College. She is the mother of 4 and grandmother
of 9. Presently, Elaine considers herself to be semi-retired while
caring for several of her own grandchildren. Elaine is a loving
advocate for all children and wants every newborn baby to be
“wrapped in the arms of love” and believes that New Baby Bundles
does just that!
Debra (Debbie) Dawyskiba worked in elderly
home health care for 20 years. She is a certified Early Childhood
Teacher and ran a daycare centr before retiring to take care of her
own grandchildren.
Judy Langmead, a former elementary school
teacher, is another passionate advocate for children. She is the
mother of 16 children and has been the foster mother for over 75
foster and medically fragile children. Judy has received several
awards for her community service including the Boston Celtics’
Heroes Among Us award. She has also been a trainer for new foster
parents and has consulted with the Massachusetts Department of
Social Services on adoption issues.
